Bella- Looking for a Home
Wednesday, November 11th, 2009Meet Bella!
Bella is a 10-month–old bulldog/pit/hound mix who was found stray, cold and hungry on the on-ramp to 66 west of Warrenton. She’s been with a foster family (three dogs, two cats) since Halloween, and she immediately fit right into the pack.
She is completely submissive to the shepherd pack leader and to the other two female dogs in the household, and she likes to play with (but completely respects) the cats. She has had some training; she comes when called and she can be trusted off-leash in a non-car environment (she is not a “runner” – doesn’t want you out of her site). She was taught to sit and stay for treats in two days, so she’s very bright. She plays great at dog parks, she is comfortable in a crate and is mostly housetrained, and she is good on long car rides (has been in the car for an hour with our other three dogs).
She has shown zero aggression towards other animals or people, although she IS puppy exhuberant, but she’s not possessive of food or toys. She likes to play and run, but she settles right down when crated. And she’s a cuddler – loves to please you and will snuggle up and hang out with the crew. She has bonded equally with men and women and met her first four year old this week – she was timid at first but warmed right up to treats and love from the child.
