- Available in a variety of colors- these boots are less scary than some thick ones, but protect my feet from ice, and the chemicals that can be on it! -your person can find these at pet supply stores, or online at http://www.amazon.com/SMALL-Disposable-Weather-Boots-pairs/dp/B001J1WBL0

Dogma Bakery makes the best cookies and cakes for puppies! They also make Doggie Ice Cream, my favorite is the cheese flavor.

Speaking of treats… these are my absolute favorite, you can buy these at Dogma too, my mom says they’re good for me cause they’re all natural, and better for the chickens too. (They make treats for cats too- I snuck a few from my brother, and loved them!)

Let me know what you’re hoping to get this year!

Hi! I’m Lexie. I’m 100% pure dog, even if I act like a cat sometimes, and ok, some of my friends think I look like a fox, but trust me, I’m a dog. I’m the professional barker here at TFAW, you might have heard me barking at you, or at someone else over the phone, or my favorite- the UPS people! But other times I’m just under the desk taking a snooze. That’s all for now- and you’ll hear more from me later! <3 Lexington

Hi there! My name’s Bumblebee and I’m new to the office. I have many jobs here at TFAW, and I take them all very seriously. You may have met me doing my most important job- evaluating all incoming people and making sure they’re aware that I’m watching their every move. Many of my best friends refer to me as the official police dog because I always ensure everyone (humans and dogs alike!) are behaving themselves.  However, just like my new friend Lexie, I spend most of my time snoozing at my mom’s feet or playing with the toys in the office. Puppy kisses, Bumblebee

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - More than two dozen dogs from the Gulf Coast arrived at the Humane Society of the United States in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, looking for new homes.

After a 20-hour drive, Miss Tee and other lab puppies are now almost a thousand miles from their former home in St Bernard Parish, Lousiana. “They’re sort of these unseen victims of something like this oil spill, where people just can’t care for them anymore,” said Betsy McFarland, the senior director of Companion Animals.
Thanks to what has become the nation’s worst environmental disaster, many people in the Gulf region are without work and giving up their pets. Some local animal shelters are at five times capacity. Among the dogs brought to Maryland include three Shih Tzus dropped off at a Louisiana shelter by an out-of-work fisherman.
“They’re crowded, you could see that they were crowded, someone had just dropped off a dog,” said the Humane Society’s Sarah Barnett.  The Loudoun County Animal Shelter is taking in a third of the pups, hoping — after a quick check up — each of them will find a loving home.

Gulf Coast Dogs Looking for Local Homes

If you are interested in adopting any of these animals, they are going to three different shelters:

The Loudoun County Animal Shelter

The Lost Dog Rescue Foundation
The Anne Arundel SPCA

Mangan, who won the Time for a Walk raffle, which included a cornucopia of tasty treats and fun toys, as well as $50 of our services.

Thank you to all sixteen employees and clients who participated, and thank you to all who donated; we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
